Privacy Policy
Topinar is a service that lets you build a digital wedding invitation and collect your guests' attendance replies (RSVPs). This policy explains what data we collect and how we use it.
The data we collect
Account information. The only way to sign in is with your Google account; you do not create a separate password on Topinar and we store no password at all. From Google we receive only your name, your email address and your account identifier. We do not see your Google password. We have no access to the data in your Gmail, Drive or other Google services.
Wedding and guest information. The details you enter on your invitation (names, date, venue, message), together with the guest names you add and their attendance replies, are stored linked to your account.
Technical logs. Server access logs are kept so that the service can run and so that abuse can be prevented.
How we use the data
- To create your invitation and show it to your guests
- To collect the attendance replies and show them to you in your dashboard
- To keep your account secure and to maintain your session
- To send you mandatory notices about the service
Sharing
Your data is processed only at the infrastructure providers required to run the service (server and database hosting). Apart from that, it is not shared with any third party unless there is a legal obligation to do so.
Who you share the invitation link you created with is under your control. Anyone who has the link can view the invitation.
Maps and location
This section concerns only you, the host of the wedding, and not your guests.
When you pick the venue location on the map in the dashboard, two things happen: the address text you typed is sent to a map service to be turned into coordinates, and your browser connects to that service in order to draw the map tiles. These requests contain no name, email address or guest list of yours — only the address you are searching for and the area the map is showing. If you never open the map window, these requests are never made either.
Nothing changes for your guests. The invitation page does not connect to map services directly. If a venue image is shown on the invitation, that image is prepared on our server and served from our server as well; your guest's IP address never reaches the map provider. A guest who chooses to press the “Get Directions” button moves over to their own map application only at that point.
The location data we store consists of nothing more than the latitude and longitude of the venue. That is the position of the venue you marked; it is not the device location of you or of your guests. Topinar collects no live or real-time location anywhere.
Cookies
We use one strictly necessary cookie, solely to keep your session open (topinar_session). We use no tracking or advertising cookies. Your language preference is also kept in your browser's local storage.
Retention period
Your data is kept for as long as your account remains open. When you delete your account, the related wedding, guest and reply records are deleted as well.
Your rights
You have the right to access your data, to have it corrected and to request its deletion. You can edit or delete your wedding and guest records in your dashboard at any time. To have your account deleted entirely, you can write to us.
